Playing Dead.

Smart Puppy.

Apparently are even smarter than we think. There’s a  puppy who likes to “play dead” not for his human companion, but rather for his fellow dog companion. Nip her and she’ll fall down and whack the other dog out into thinking “she’s dead“. Hmm… interesting … makes me think.

Do you like to “play dead”?

I mean … when you’re faced with adversity or tough circumstances and questions do you cop out and play dead? Or do you address things head on, talking the bull by the horn? (These animal analogies are quite useful! wlEmoticon winkingsmile1 Playing Dead.!)  Do you play dead when your are internally struggling and you don’t know how to deal with it? Is it less painful and easier for you to ignore than acknowledge?

Do you play dead when when it comes to your customers? Not addressing their concerns or complaints or issues? Do you stick with what’s safe and what works rather than broadening your horizons, potentially growing your customer base and fans!

Get off the floor.

is OK when you’re a dog; it’s cute and it’s funny and it shows their ability to listen and learn. What’s not cute, nor funny and definitely show lack of listening and learning skills, is if you’re in any part of your world. People deserve better than that. Get a spine and get off the floor; no more !

The worst lies are the lies we tell ourselves. We live in of what we do, even what we think. We do this because we’re afraid. Richard Bach

What an empowering question, Elena. Playing Dead is a perfect phrase for the the resigned attitude that so many folks wake up to everyday. Playing the game of “Playing Dead” causes us to forget our Authentic Self. The only way out is consciousness. When we are no longer ignorant of the truth of this ‘woesome’ self, our resignation fades and the ‘wowsome’ self (supreme in all its beauty and splendor), nicely appears!

Thank you Rob for visiting! You always make my day (my week!)! ;)

You say so eloquently what I say so … uh … “averagely”; both work, but I like how you say it muuuuch better! :)

Consciousness is definitely key! I believe I’ve shared this with you before – I like “feeling” life in all its glory; the blows and the warmth of the sun! To experience anything less, to play dead, is not living at all to me. I know I’m alive when I experience the valleys and the peaks and I’m thankful for every single second of it all!

Thank you for you beautiful insight as always Rob … what a joy!

    Abundant kindness,

  8. Dr. Robert Doebler from pittsburgh prostate says:

I think people might be getting accustomed to this kind of mentality today. I see less and less people being genuinely helpful to others in the workplace let alone outside of it. I just feel saddened by that fact, what is 1 minute of our time to help out a struggling person, right?

A very nice topic to tackle, Elena. Thanks! I love articles that are so true. I’ll keep visiting your blog. :)

I agree with you Dr. Doebler, I very much feel people are getting accustomed to this and that saddens me greatly too!

Time may be precious, however, so are our gifts that we use with that time. I think we need to see how they intertwine and how together they both can be a beautiful thing!

You have some insightful comments here that I truly appreciate sir – thank you, thank you!!

      Happiness,
