Call To Action

3 Popular Words.

I just wanted to touch briefly on a very important item and that is your ! These are three very popular words floating about the internet right now and for good reason. In the world of design, nothing is more frustrating than going to a site and having to search for a phone number – one major call to action! We run across this countless times a day with websites in the trades -on plumbing websites, websites, roofing websites and more. It’s amazing how many times it’s not obvious or even on the home page. When you get to the website, either there is no number or it’s so small and misplaced you miss it. And when someone misses your call to action, you’re missing business. Remember people don’t like to work for things and want it in an instant. Be sure that on your website there is a clear and obviouscall to action.

Just Ask.

In the world of video and social media be sure to have a call to action as well. Ask for people to comment on your blog posts, to retweet your information and to share your links. You have to ask and don’t forget to thank people as well. You may write great, thought-provoking content; however, if you don’t ask people for feedback, opinions or thoughts then you’ll probably not get much in the way of or limiting potential comments. Be sure to post questions and surveys on your Facebook and Google+.  There are plenty of different forms of calls to action; so be smart and be creative and don’t miss any opportunities.

Great tip, Elena. Funny, we always know what drives us nuts about websites we don’t like, but when it comes to turning the ole’ mirror on ourselves we often miss the point. Such is life when it comes to rigorous self-facing! Asking healthy questions with the intent to grow is the only way to bypass our silly decisions and miss-takes (which we are bound to make!) We can open our eyes to success and joy when we take a thorough look at how we created ourselves and our websites to be… I know myself and my website have gone through many stages and changes and both are continually evolving and looking for ways to improve! Wow… I didn’t think I was going to take your article down that path today!

Profound words here my friend … you bring “call to action” to a whole new level and that’s powerful! Ah, but I’ve come to expect such wisdom from you … always making what I put out that much better! Thank you, I’m so grateful to your Rob … always!

      Blue skies & happiness,

Hola, call to action does not come easy to me but I know if I never ask then I shouldn’t be disappointed if I don’t get any results. It’s a fine line, and sometimes we are afraid to ask because we don’t want to hear the answer if it is ‘no’.

The caveat is, you will never know unless you ask and regardless of the answer, it’s not going to kill you, right?

So my call to action is to have a fantastic week and create at least one new opportunity, ok?

I hope you had a great Thanksgiving; I thought I saw a pic of you and was it your family on FB maybe? It was a great pic……..

I LOVE your call to action my friend!! I so need you in my life! :)

Boy you speak my language in the “not wanting to hear a ‘no’” department! I struggle with this constantly, but then I just imagine the Cowardly Lion and get on with my day. ;) (I struggle with this every day I might add.)

Thanksgiving was one of the nicest in a looong time! I’m glad to know yours was good too! Yay! Your kind about the picture – thank you … it was of my sister, my best friend, my two nieces and my daughter.

You have a wonderful productive week!! As always, I so grateful to see your wonderful face here!

      Warmly,

      Elena

    Hi Elena,
As I watched your video I realized I have a long way to go with putting out a call to action at LFI. But with my other site, Terra Cotta Pendants, I do it on every page. The difference, I believe, is that at TCP I figure if someone landed there, they likely want to buy a Pendant!
But at a blog I realize some people like to read only, and some may comment and some don’t even have Twitter or Facebook. I don’t know. I’ll have to give this more thought. I guess I want people to do what they want to do – for them and not for me. More thought required!

Ah, but Lori you do have a great “call to action” all the time … you ask questions that beg for commenting!! You just don’t end, you start a discussion and I consider this a different type of call to action. So my friend, you’ve nailed that pretty well!

Great seeing you and thank you sooo much for commenting!!

      Happiness,

      Elena

      Hello Anna!

What is your blog link? I’d be curious as to how you have it set up. I suggest simply for their input or say something like “I welcome your thoughts on this …”. Just be engaging and flat out ask.

      Many thanks,

      Elena
